Benefil CASE STUDY

Temporary Infill - London

A project demonstrating the versatility of Benefil took place in London's Cannon Street, where the lightweight polymer resin was used to provide a temporary protective barrier between two high-rise buildings, one of which was to be demolished. With severe traffic restrictions, no man access to the void and the need to be able to remove the material barrier during demolition, Benfil was chosen as the best option. Filling was completed during three Saturday visits to avoid traffic problems and minimise site disruption. Benefil equipment was lifted by tower crane to two intermediate filling points on scaffolding, and finally on to the roof itself. The 7m x 600mm x 14-storey-high void was filled in just three visits with no disruption to neighbouring companies, and the material was easily removable as the building demolition proceeded.
